Waterberg, where the landscape suddenly turns green
Waterberg lies among the dry landscapes of Limpopo. Small rivers, waterfalls and wetlands bring greenery to the area and provide a habitat for many different animal species.
Bushveld alternates with Sourveld, a type of grassland. Higher rock formations rise above the landscape, giving Waterberg a character that changes as you travel through it.
Several game reserves are scattered across the region, including Marakele Game Reserve and the private Entabeni reserve. Waterberg is also home to a number of smaller wildlife reserves.
From green bushveld to rocks and game reserves
Waterberg is all about variety. Water flows through a landscape where dry terrain, grassland and bushveld meet, with rocks rising above it all.
This combination supports a wide variety of wildlife. You can explore the area from your vehicle on a game drive, but not every adventure has to be on four wheels.
