Zimbabwe lies between Zambia, Mozambique, Botswana and South Africa, making it a natural part of several cross-border journeys. Many travellers begin in Johannesburg and drive through northern Kruger or Mapungubwe. Vehicle collection in Harare is also possible. Remote tracks towards Gonarezhou or through communal lands offer freedom and very little traffic, but they also require experience, preparation and a suitable 4x4.
