Mountain Zebra National Park
The Mountain Zebra Park owes its name to the number of mountain zebras that live here. Approximately 300 of these zebras live in the national park. They are slightly smaller than the Burchell’s zebra and have denser stripes.
There are also numerous other animals to be found in this park. Among them, six cheetahs, lions, hartebeest, springbok, and the ostrich. Plenty to see! The park itself is also well worth a visit. Vast plains, savannah grasslands, and high mountains and cliffs make it a beautiful area for a self-drive game drive. Various activities are also organized from the camp, such as guided game drives and the exciting cheetah trekking. On this trekking, you’ll set off on foot with a ranger using a GPS to search for the cheetah. There’s no guarantee you’ll see the cheetah, but in many cases, you’ll be able to get incredibly close to these impressive creatures.
Cradock
The park is a 20-minute drive from the town of Cradock, a great place to stock up on groceries and have lunch before continuing your journey.
