Graskop sits right where a stop makes sense.

The Panorama Route is around 180 kilometres long. It starts at Sabie and ends at Erasmus Pass.

Graskop lies midway along the route and works well as an overnight stop. Several viewpoints and waterfalls are within reach from town.

God’s Window, Pinnacle and Wonder View are among the well-known stops around Graskop.

Morning light points you towards the waterfalls.

South of Graskop lie Berlin and Lisbon waterfalls. The morning light works well here for photography.

If you are travelling with a camera close at hand, this part of the route is worth planning early in the day.

North of Graskop are God’s Window, Pinnacle, Blyde River Canyon and the Three Rondavels. The afternoon light suits these viewpoints better.

From here, hike in Jonkershoek Nature Reserve. The route then runs north to the Cederberg, where Wolfberg Cracks, Wolfberg Arch, Maalgat and Maltese Cross are all listed as walking options. Tankwa Karoo National Park changes the setting completely.
