The Growcery Camp lies in the Richtersveld in South Africa's Northern Cape, on the banks of the Orange River. The camp is 22 kilometres from the border with Namibia, making it a practical stop along the way.
From camp, you look towards the mountains of Namibia. During the day, you can take a SUP, kayak or raft onto the river, giving you a break from time behind the wheel.
For the night, you can choose a private campsite or a shared camping area. In the evening, you can sit beside the campfire with the river and stars around you.

This 14-day route starts and finishes in Cape Town, combining rugged landscapes, the Atlantic coast, active days and 4x4 tracks. The first days are based in Stellenbosch, close to Cape Town. From here, hike in Jonkershoek Nature Reserve. The route then runs north to the Cederberg, where Wolfberg Cracks, Wolfberg Arch, Maalgat and Maltese Cross are all listed as walking options. Tankwa Karoo National Park changes the setting completely.
