Steenkampshoek Campsite

The unique Steenkampshoek Campsite is a remote camping site in the Tankwa Karoo National Park. This campsite is only accessible by 4×4. There are no facilities and travellers will need to bring their own water. It is a beautiful place where you can camp in a remote area and completely on your own. The view over the plain is amazing.

There is only 1 camping spot and there are no other travellers in the vicinity. The camp is located approximately 12 km from the National Park reception.

On a clear night you will be able to see the Milky Way and millions of stars.

  • Basic camping site (no facilities, no toilet/shower/water)

In addition to the Steenkampshoek Campsite, there are several other (and larger) camping sites in the Tankwa Karoo National Park where facilities such as a toilet and water are available.

We booked a last minute 17 day self drive trip through Namibia with this company and everything was just perfect. Contact with the company was very pleasant and they kept us posted with updates about the progress of our trip. Gps, maps, book and 12V equipment was sent to our home as soon as our trip was confirmed.

Price wise it was a great deal and everything in Namibia (car and layovers) were to our satisfaction. We would definitely book again with this company and we would recommend it to our friends.
