Okaukuejo Restcamp lies in the south of Etosha National Park, 17 kilometres from Anderson Gate. The camp is easy to recognise by its characteristic stone tower. Okaukuejo is also the administrative centre of Etosha, and the Etosha Ecological Institute is based at the camp.

The waterhole is the focal point. Animal activity starts early in the morning, with game tending to gather closer to the camp during the winter.

After sunset, spotlights illuminate the waterhole. Black rhino are regularly seen here, sometimes drinking alongside lions and elephants. There is no need to head out again, stay seated and watch what arrives.
