Namutoni Restcamp lies in the eastern part of Etosha National Park. From the fort walls, you can look out over King Nehale Waterhole and the surrounding landscape.
The fort was once used as a police post and later as a South African military base in Namibia. Fort Namutoni was declared a national monument in 1950 and opened to tourism in 1957.
Fisher's Pan makes Namutoni a great stop for birdwatchers. History, views and a practical base all come together here.
