Makhangoa Community Camp
The Makhangoa Community Fly Fishing Camp and Rosehip Cottage is the first fly fishing and ecotourism project of its kind in the region. The activities are managed and implemented by African Waters and the Makhangoa Tourism Council.
Tourism
The goal of the partnership is to provide sustainable and valuable tourism in the area while simultaneously conserving the natural resources that attract nature lovers, cultural tourists, and eco-tourists to this beautiful valley. Proceeds from all visitor bookings (through a daily community contribution) are allocated to community charitable projects, with the aim of improving the local community and providing happier and healthier lives.
Training and Development
In addition to the daily community contribution generated by each visitor stay, the camp trains and employs local staff for all aspects of camp life and management, from camp managers, river rangers, hiking and cultural guides to friendly housekeepers and maintenance staff.
