Desert Horse Campsite
Desert Horse Campsite in Klein-Aus Vista is a special campsite. As the name suggests, you can find wild desert horses here. These have been roaming the area for several generations. You have a chance of seeing them during your stay here. Go to the Garub water drinking site to improve your chances of spotting these beautiful animals. The Desert Horse Campsite also has a special location. It is situated where the desert and the dunes of the Namib Naukluft Park meet. This means you have an amazing ‘vista’ in Klein-Aus.
The camping pitches are found under enormous camelthorn trees that provide shade. The very special weaver nests can often be found in the trees. Each pitch has a tap with running water, a table with benches, a grill and a windscreen. The campsite itself has toilet blocks with hot showers and clean toilets, and you can recharge your devices at the reception. Barbecue packages can be obtained from the Desert-Inn reception, and you can have dinner at the restaurant upon reservation.
Desert Horse Campsite is a perfect base camp for exploring the southwestern corner of Namibia. The staff at the reception are happy to help you arrange activities such as hiking trails or mountain bike expeditions.
